Revision as of 08:36, 19 February 2011

The Mac Ministry List was created to help Mac-using missionaries who had little access to technical support. Over the years, it has grown into CMUG’s online community forum. Join the conversation by subscribing.

At this moment there are currently two Mac Ministry mailing lists. As of February 2011, the old list is still the recommended list to join.

Mac Ministry main list

The address for the original and main list changed on February 19, 2011. To subscribe and receive individual e-mails, click this link and send the e-mail it creates.

To unsubscribe from the list, click this link and send the e-mail it creates.

Alternatively, or to change your options e.g. to a single e-mail digest of messages, use the new web page for subscriptions:

http://catug.org/mailman/listinfo/mac-min_catug.org

As a member, to send a message to the old list, email mac-min@catug.org

Mac Ministry via mac-min.org

This is a new list. It was set up in 2010 and people were invited to subscribe; see CATUG wiki: Transition Announcements. However, the current leadership has not endorsed it, although it is up and running with some active discussions.

To subscribe and receive individual emails or digests, visit the mailman management page. From here you can subscribe to the list, unsubscribe from the list, and change certain options such as whether to receive messages in regular mode or digest mode.

As a member, to send a message to the new list, email mac-ministry@lists.mac-min.org

Archives

There are no online email archives of the old or new lists. This is intentional, and preferred by a significant number of CMUG members. Instead, this Wiki was set up partly to serve as a repository of some of the best advice which may be of lasting or wider value.

Special purpose lists

Editors List

There is a mailing list for web editors and those interested in contributing to the web presence of CMUG (blog, this wiki). You can subscribe from the mailman listinfo page. This is a public list with a private archive.

Admin lists

As of January 2011, the interim CMUG Operations group have a private list for discussion of governance and future changes; see Current status for the membership of this group. A subset of that group have a separate admin list.

The tech team who set up mac-min.org already had a separate list for administrative matters, to save stuff of a boring or technical nature from being sent to all members.
