This page is used to display news items on the front page. These can be links to new articles that are posted, external news items that are of interest, etc. This portion of the site can be used like a "micro-blog".
Please place items in chronological order. Limit description to one sentence, using the concise style shown below, and start with the date (using our preferred format of "March 6, 2010").

  • January 1, 2013: reminder to start the new year with a Bible reading plan for your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
  • December 15, 2012: Quick Tip # 8: Take a minute to look at the pop-up menu in OSX's Address Book. Knowing what is there could save you time.
  • June 17, 2012: Quick Tip # 7: use Mactracker to find out whether you can upgrade your Mac to OS X 10.7 Lion or Mountain Lion.
  • April 6, 2012: Quick Tip # 6: run Software Update from the  menu to check that you have installed Apple's security updates. The latest update for OS X 10.6 & 10.7 can protect your Mac from the Flashback trojan. See this MacObserver article if you might be infected already.
  • February 22, 2012: "Do Not Track Plus" stops unwanted tracking by advertisers or social networks, and is one of our recommended Safari Extensions and Firefox add-ons.
  • February 20, 2012: CATUG warns people not to install a widely-advertised app called MacKeeper. See our list of recommended utilities for better alternatives.
  • January 9, 2012: We set up a new Facebook page.
  • January 8, 2012: We started using the new CATUG logo.
