  • Here are three software bundles worth looking at:
    • Until December 16, 2011: BundleHunt.com with Little Snitch, DEVONthink Personal, MacPilot and some creative/web designer tools, all for $50.
    • Until December 20, 2011: ProductiveMacs.com includes LaunchBar (some use this as their primary interface with the Mac) and Default Folder (a wonderful addition to Open and Save dialogs). $40.
    • Until December 21, 2011: MUPromo.com from MacUpdate including such heavyweights as Techtool Pro (with a disc image to make it bootable), email app PostBox 3 and Mac DVDRipper Pro. $50 buys these and more.
  • October 20, 2011: Quick Tip # 5: Beware fake updaters for software which may pop up with a familiar logo, e.g. after clicking a video in social media. If in doubt, don't give it your password! Go to the official site (such as adobe.com) and check there for updates.
  • October 14, 2011: Quick Tip # 4: in Address Book, set up a Smart Group of all cards that are not in another group, to help you classify new contacts. Smart Groups are also the way to search a specific field.
  • September 2011: invited CATUG members to join a separate prayer list.
  • May 30, 2011: Quick Tip # 3: extend your iPhone battery life by switching off subtle features that you probably don't need.
  • May 12, 2011: Quick Tip # 2: DO NOT install MacProtector, the latest name for fake antivirus software previously named MacDefender and MacSecurity. Just google the name and you will see plenty of advice on removing it. This one looks thorough.
